Lisa Kudrow Valerie Kudrow was born on July 30, 1963, in the Encino neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Her mother, Nedra, worked as a travel agent, and her father, Lee Kudrow, was a physician who specialized in treating headaches. She grew up alongside her older sister, Helene, and her two older brothers, David and Derrick, in a middle-class Jewish household. Her paternal ancestry includes family from Ilya, which is in present-day Belarus.
