Who is Lisa?
Early life and real name
Lisa was born Pranpriya Manobal on March 27, 1997, in Satuek district, Buriram province, Thailand. At the advice of a fortune teller, she later legally changed her name to Lalisa for prosperity. She was raised as an only child by her Thai mother, Chitthip Brüschweiler, and her Swiss stepfather, Marco Brüschweiler.
As a child, she took an interest in K-pop artists like BigBang and 2NE1. She began taking dance classes at the age of four and joined the dance crew We Zaa Cool alongside BamBam of Got7. She completed her secondary education at Praphamontree School I and II before moving to South Korea.
How Lisa became famous
In 2010, Lisa auditioned to join South Korean record label YG Entertainment in Thailand. Among four thousand applicants, she was the only one to qualify, becoming the label's first non-ethnic Korean trainee when she moved to South Korea in 2011.
In August 2016, Lisa debuted as one of four members of the South Korean girl group Blackpink. The group quickly became well known with hit singles like Whistle and Boombayah, eventually becoming one of the best-selling girl groups of all time.
Career highlights
In September 2021, Lisa released her debut solo single album titled Lalisa. The title track set records as the most-viewed YouTube music video in the first twenty-four hours by a solo artist and earned multiple Guinness World Records.
Her B-side track Money also achieved big international success, becoming the first song by a K-pop solo artist to reach one billion streams on Spotify. In 2024, she established her own management company, Lloud, and signed with RCA Records before releasing her debut studio album Alter Ego in 2025.

Outside of music, she made her acting debut in 2025 in the third season of the HBO series The White Lotus. She has also gained significant recognition in the fashion industry as a global ambassador for major luxury brands such as Celine, Bulgari, and Louis Vuitton.
