Who is Lorenzo Lamas?
Early life and background
Lorenzo Lamas was born in Santa Monica, United States. His parents were actor Fernando Lamas and actress Arlene Dahl. He grew up in Pacific Palisades and later relocated to New York City in 1971. He attended Admiral Farragut Academy in Pine Beach, New Jersey, graduating in 1975. He also studied at Santa Monica High School and Santa Monica College.
From an early age, he pursued martial arts training. He earned black belts in several disciplines, including Taekwondo, Shotokan Karate, Ju jitsu, and Aikido. His early ambition to work in show business led him to study acting at Tony Barr's Film Actors Workshop during the mid-1970s.
Acting career and Falcon Crest
Lorenzo obtained his first television acting role in 1976. He appeared as a jock in the 1978 musical film Grease. During the late 1970s and early 1980s, he made guest appearances on various television programs such as Fantasy Island and The Love Boat.
His major breakthrough came when he was cast as Lance Cumson in the prime time drama series Falcon Crest. He appeared in every episode of the show from 1981 to 1990 and received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. During this period, he also starred in the film Body Rock and performed on its soundtrack.
Renegade and later projects
From 1992 to 1997, Lorenzo played the lead role of Reno Raines in the syndicated crime drama series Renegade. The production allowed him to combine his passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles with his martial arts expertise. The series aired in numerous countries around the world.
In later years, he appeared on soap operas including The Bold and the Beautiful as Hector Ramirez. He also participated in reality television, starring in his own family show Leave It to Lamas and competing on The Celebrity Apprentice. Outside of acting, he worked as a helicopter tour pilot.

Lorenzo has been married multiple times and has children from his relationships. His first marriage was to Victoria Hilbert. He was subsequently married to Michele Cathy Smith, with whom he shared children named AJ and Shayne. He also had a relationship with actress Daphne Ashbrook, resulting in a daughter named Paton Lee.
