Early life and real name
Martin Freeman John Christopher Freeman was born on September 8, 1971, in Aldershot, United Kingdom. He grew up as the youngest of five children in his family. His father served as a naval officer, and his mother raised the children in the Catholic faith.
During his childhood, Martin attended the Salesian School in Chertsey and later studied media at Brooklands College. He continued his training at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama before beginning his professional career on stage and screen.
