Who is Michael Biehn?
Early life and background
Michael Connell Biehn was born in Anniston, Alabama, on July 31, 1956. He is the second of three boys born to Don Biehn, a lawyer, and Marcia Connell. His family eventually moved from Alabama to Lincoln, Nebraska, before settling in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
During his youth in Arizona, Michael attended Lake Havasu High School and participated in the local drama club. He later enrolled in the drama program at the University of Arizona, where he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity before moving to Hollywood to begin his professional career.
Science fiction career highlights
The actor gained significant recognition through his work with director James Cameron. He played the soldier Kyle Reese in the 1984 film The Terminator. He later portrayed Corporal Hicks in the 1986 sequel Aliens, a role for which he received a Saturn Award nomination for Best Actor.
In 1989, he worked with Cameron again in The Abyss, playing Lieutenant Hiram Coffey. His filmography also includes roles in The Fan, Navy SEALs, Tombstone, and The Rock. He has provided voice work for video games like Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and Aliens: Colonial Marines.
