Michel Sardou Charles Sardou was born on January 26, 1947, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, France. His parents were both involved in the entertainment industry, with his father Fernand Sardou working as a singer and actor, and his mother Jackie Sardou working as an actress. His grandfather Valentin Sardou was a comedian in Marseille, and his grandmother was also a singer.
Growing up in a theatrical family, Michel left school at the age of sixteen. He initially worked as a waiter in his father's cabaret located in Montmartre. During this time, he met Michel Fugain and eventually went on to audition for Eddie Barclay, which marked the beginning of his path into the professional recording industry.
