Who is Michel Teló?
Early musical career
Michel Teló began his artistic path at age six when he performed in his school choir. By age ten, his father gifted him an accordion, which started his interest in instruments. He later learned to play piano, harmonica, and guitar while also developing skills as a dancer.
At age 12, he established a band called Guri with encouragement from his friends and brothers. This group focused on traditional music and allowed him to serve as the lead singer and composer. These formative experiences provided the foundation for his future professional work in the music industry.
Grupo Tradição years
In 1997, the singer joined the band Grupo Tradição. During his eleven years with the ensemble, he sang several major hits including Barquinho, O Caldeirão, and Pra Sempre Minha Vida. He remained with this group until 2008.

The singer reached widespread international recognition in 2011 after releasing the song Ai Se Eu Te Pego. The track became a global viral success when various professional soccer players, including Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Marcelo, danced to it during match celebrations. This exposure helped the song reach number one on charts across Latin America and Europe.
Television and collaborations
Between 2015 and 2023, Michel served as a coach on the reality television programs The Voice Brasil and The Voice Kids Brasil. Over the course of eleven seasons on the show, his team secured eight victories. This performance makes him the second most successful coach in the franchise history.
He has also engaged in various musical collaborations throughout his career. In 2014, he recorded a Portuguese version of the song Darte un Beso with Prince Royce. The two artists performed the track live during the Premios Billboard Latin Awards ceremony that same year.
