Early life and education
Miranda Rae Mayo was born in Fresno, California. She developed an interest in performing early in her life. During her time as a student at Theodore Roosevelt High School, she gained practical experience by participating in local stage productions.
After completing her education in Fresno, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a professional career. Before landing television work, she spent time working as a model. This transition period allowed her to build connections in the entertainment industry.
Television career beginnings
Miranda Rae Mayo made her television debut in 2011 with a guest appearance on the police procedural series Law and Order: LA. She continued to build her resume with a variety of recurring television roles over the next few years.
In 2013, she joined the cast of the BET comedy show The Game. Following that, she secured a role as Zoe Browning on the soap opera Days of Our Lives. She appeared on that program from August 2014 until July 2015. During the early months of 2015, she also played the character Talia Sandoval on the teen drama series Pretty Little Liars.
Breakthrough and Chicago Fire
The year 2015 proved busy for the performer. She had a role in the HBO crime anthology series True Detective and played a love interest in the Showtime drama The Affair. That same year, she landed a regular role as Lacey Briggs on the ABC soap opera Blood and Oil, acting alongside Don Johnson.
Her most prominent role began in 2016 when she joined the cast of Chicago Fire. She plays the character Stella Kidd, who is a firefighter. She has remained with the production since that time, becoming a staple of the show.
