Who is Missi Pyle?
Early life and education
Andrea Kay Pyle was born on November 16, 1972, in Houston, United States, to parents Linda and Frank Pyle. She grew up in Tennessee and attended Germantown High School during her youth.
She later pursued higher education in the arts. She graduated from the School of Drama at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 1995 and also studied drama at the Oxford School of Drama.
Acting career highlights
Missi Pyle began her film career with a minor role as a waitress in the 1997 film As Good as It Gets, which starred Helen Hunt and Jack Nicholson. She gained wider recognition following her breakout role in the 1999 science fiction comedy film Galaxy Quest.
Throughout her career, she has appeared in numerous well known films including Josie and the Pussycats in 2001, Bringing Down the House in 2003, Dodgeball: a Underdog Story in 2004, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in 2005. Her later film credits include The Artist in 2011, Gone Girl in 2014, and Ma in 2019.
In addition to her film work, Missi Pyle has a vast television resume. She played Ms. Pasternak on Two and a Half Men across multiple seasons and has made guest appearances on shows such as Frasier, Boston Legal, The Mentalist, Mom, and Dirty John.

As a singer and songwriter, Missi Pyle formed a country rock duo called Smith & Pyle alongside actress Shawnee Smith. The two met while filming a television pilot and decided to start a band after attending a music festival together.
Their debut album, titled It's OK to Be Happy, was released digitally in July 2008. The record was recorded in Joshua Tree, California, and was produced by Chris Goss under their own record label, Urban Prairie Records.
On stage, Missi Pyle starred in the Broadway play Boeing-Boeing in 2008, performing opposite actors such as Christine Baranski and Mark Rylance until the production closed in January 2009.

Missi Pyle was married to Antonio Sacre in May 2000. She later married wildlife naturalist Casey Anderson in a country-western themed wedding in Montana on September 12, 2008.
