Early life and education
Naomi Grace Scott was born in Hounslow, United Kingdom, on May 6, 1993. Her parents, Christopher and Usha, served as pastors at the Bridge Church. She has an older brother named Joshua David. The family moved to Woodford, London, when Naomi was eight years old. Growing up, she was heavily influenced by gospel and R&B music, frequently singing in church settings.
Naomi attended the Davenant Foundation School in Loughton, Essex. She eventually left her studies halfway through her A-Levels to focus on her acting career.
Early career
British pop singer Kéllé Bryan discovered Naomi and signed her as a client, leading to work with songwriters at Xenomania. Her initial television experience included the Disney Channel UK series Life Bites. In 2010, she secured a major role as Mohini Banjaree in the Disney Channel original film Lemonade Mouth. This project served as her introduction to American film productions.
She provided vocals for the movie soundtrack, with the song She's So Gone achieving commercial success. Following this, she appeared in the science fiction series Terra Nova on Fox. Although the series was short-lived, it provided significant industry exposure.
