Who is Nidhi Subbaiah?
Early life and education
Nidhi Subbaiah was born on February 16, 1987, in the Kodagu district of Karnataka. As an only child, she was raised by Bollachanda Subhash Subbaiah and Jhansi Subbaiah. Her family eventually relocated to Mysore, which is where she spent most of her childhood years.
She attended St. Joseph's Central and Mahajanas PU college in Mysore. Later, Nidhi enrolled in a Civil Engineering program at Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering. She decided to leave the course during her second year of study to focus on her growing modeling work.
Sports and achievements
Before her acting career took off, Nidhi was a successful athlete. While studying at II PUC in Mysore, she won gold medals in sailing at national sports meets. Her sailing skills earned her three gold medals within a single calendar year during competitions held at Chilka Lake in Orissa and in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Nidhi also served as a Naval NCC cadet. She received the best cadet award in 2004. These athletic accomplishments were established before she transitioned into the entertainment industry through modeling and film roles.
Acting and modeling career
The career of Nidhi Subbaiah began with television commercials, including a well-known appearance for Fair & Lovely. This work helped her secure her first film role in the 2009 movie Abhimani. She later appeared in the film Anna Bond alongside Puneeth Rajkumar and Priyamani.
Her work in Kannada cinema includes successful titles like Pancharangi and Krishnan Marriage Story. She also entered Bollywood with a small part in Oh My God. Her first leading role in a Bollywood production was in Ajab Gazabb Love, where she acted with Jackky Bhagnani.
In 2021, she appeared as a contestant on the reality television show Bigg Boss Kannada season 8. She was the first person to be evicted during the second innings of that season on July 4, 2021.
Personal life
Nidhi Subbaiah married Lavesh Khairajani, an entrepreneur, in 2017. The wedding took place in Coorg, Karnataka. The couple later divorced in 2018.
