Who is Parvati Shallow?
Early life and background
Parvati Shallow was born on September 21, 1982, in Vero Beach, Florida. She grew up in a Hindu commune called Kashi Ashram located in Sebastian, Florida. A leader named Ma Jaya gave her the name Parvati because all children in the commune received names from her.
At the age of 11, she and her three siblings moved to Marietta, Georgia. She attended Sprayberry High School before enrolling at the University of Georgia. While at university, she joined the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree.
Reality television career
Parvati Shallow first appeared on the television show Survivor in 2006 during the Cook Islands season. She finished in sixth place during that initial appearance. Following this, she competed in the Heroes vs. Villains season in 2010 and finished as the runner up. She returned again for the Winners at War season in 2020, where she placed 15th.
Her most successful moment came during the Micronesia season when she won the title of Sole Survivor. She later achieved another victory while representing the United States on the Australian Survivor: Australia vs. The World season in 2025. Because of her social and strategic approach to the game, she earned the nickname Black Widow.
Other professional work
In addition to reality television, Parvati has worked as a life coach. She created a course titled How Villains are Made which focuses on topics regarding personal empowerment. She is also an author and host, producing a book and podcast called Nice Girls Don't Win.
Her athletic interests include boxing, a sport she began practicing in 2004. Alongside other boxers, she helped establish a non-profit organization named Knockouts for Girls. This charity provides boxing lessons and scholarships to underprivileged girls.
Personal life and relationships
Before her television career took off, she moved from Georgia to West Hollywood, California. She also attempted to join the cast of The Amazing Race with a friend, though they were not chosen by the producers.
