Early life and education
Patrick Schwarzenegger was born on September 18, 1993, in Santa Monica, California, and raised in Los Angeles. He is the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. He has two older sisters, Katherine and Christina, a younger brother, Christopher, and a younger paternal half-brother, Joseph Baena. He holds dual Austrian-American citizenship and speaks English along with some German.
He attended Brentwood School for high school and took private acting lessons with Nancy Banks. In 2012, he enrolled at the University of Southern California. He graduated in May 2016 from the USC Marshall School of Business with a degree in business administration and a minor in cinematic arts, and he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
Acting career
At the age of ten, Patrick Schwarzenegger appeared in the film The Benchwarmers. He practiced acting with his father during his childhood and studied theater while attending classes at the Nancy Banks Studio. At fifteen years old, he started his own clothing line. He later took on supporting roles in films such as Stuck in Love in 2012, Grown Ups 2 in 2013, and Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse in 2015.
His first leading role came in the 2018 romantic drama Midnight Sun alongside Bella Thorne. He subsequently appeared in the horror film Daniel Isn't Real and the comedy drama Moxie. In 2022, he starred in the HBO true crime mini series The Staircase. He later played Luke Riordan, also known as Golden Boy, in the first season of the Prime Video series Gen V, and appeared in the third season of The White Lotus.
Business ventures
In 2011 and 2012, Patrick Schwarzenegger interned for producer John Davis. He expanded into business by franchising Blaze Pizza locations, including one at USC and another at The Grove in Los Angeles. He later sold his shares in Blaze Pizza to focus on investing in companies that offer healthier food and beverage alternatives.
His investments include the electrolyte drink mix company Liquid I.V., the protein coffee brand Super Coffee, and the vegan chicken company Nuggs. In 2020, he and his mother Maria Shriver launched MOSH, a brain nutrition and wellness brand named after Maria Owings Shriver Health, which officially debuted on World Alzheimer's Day.
Personal life
Patrick Schwarzenegger lives in Los Angeles, California. He was in a relationship with singer Miley Cyrus from 2014 to 2015. He began dating model Abby Champion in 2015, and the couple announced their engagement on December 26, 2023. They were married at Gozzer Ranch near Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on September 6, 2025.
