Who is Shakib Khan?
Early life and real name
Shakib Khan was born as Masud Rana Sheikh on March 28, 1979. His original residence is in Ragadhi, Muksudpur, Gopalganj, Bangladesh, but he was born in Dhaka. His paternal grandfather was Mominuddin Sheikh, and his father, Abdur Rauf Sheikh, worked as a government official. His mother, Nurjahan, is a housewife. He grew up with a sister and another brother, moving between cities during his school years because of his father's employment.
As a teenager, he lived in Narayanganj. In 1995, he met film choreographer and actor Aziz Reza and completed a dancing course under him. He received an offer for the film Sobai To Shukhi Hote Chay directed by Aftab Khan Tulu and secured the role due to a dispute between the director and another actor, Shakil Khan.
Acting debut and career beginnings
Shakib Khan made his acting debut in the action romance film Ananta Bhalobasha in 1999, directed by Sohanur Rahman Sohan. He received a fee of five thousand taka for his lead role in the movie. Following this release, he appeared in films such as Golam alongside Shabnur and Ajker Dapot with Dilara Hanif Purnima.
His early projects included roles in folk fantasy and action melodramas like Bishe Bhora Naagin and Dujon Dujonar. Throughout the early 2000s, he starred in various productions including Hira Chuni Panna, Janer Jaan, and Kosom Banglar Mati, gradually establishing his presence in the Dhallywood film industry.
