Who is Stephenie LaGrossa?
Early life and education
Stephenie LaGrossa was born in Philadelphia on December 6, 1978. She grew up in Glenolden, Pennsylvania, as the youngest of five children and the only daughter of Stephen and Marguerite LaGrossa. During high school at Archbishop Prendergast, she participated in field hockey, swimming, and varsity lacrosse.
After graduating high school, she attended Temple University before transferring to Monmouth University in New Jersey. She played Division One lacrosse at both universities, captaining the team in her final year. LaGrossa earned athletic and academic scholarships and was named to the Northeast Conference Academic Honor Roll. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, focusing on marketing and management.
Survivor television career
In 2005, she joined the cast of Survivor: Palau as a member of the Ulong tribe. Despite the tribe losing every immunity challenge, she survived until the individual portion of the game before being voted out in seventh place. Following that season, she returned for Survivor: Guatemala, where she reached the final two and finished as the runner-up after a 6-1 jury vote against Danni Boatwright.
She returned for her third season on the twentieth installment, Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, in 2010. After dislocating her shoulder during an early challenge, she was the second person voted out, placing 19th. In 2026, she competed again on Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans, where she was eliminated in 10th place.
Other television appearances and work
Following a twelve-year break from reality television to focus on family, she joined the 2022 cast of Snake in the Grass. She played the role of the snake but was identified by her fellow contestants. Later that year, she competed on the first season of The Traitors. She was eliminated in seventh place after being murdered by the traitors during the game.
Outside of competition shows, she worked as an in-arena host for the Philadelphia Flyers. She also appeared on the soap opera Guiding Light and did some modeling work. Also, she partnered with Heidi Strobel Hamels to co-host the health and fitness app Reality Check Fitness.
Personal life and family
Stephenie married high school teacher Michael Ward in 2006, but the couple divorced after one year. Following that, she became a co-owner of GIGI Restaurant and Lounge in Philadelphia. In 2010, she married professional baseball player Kyle Kendrick. The couple has three children together, named Sophia Marguerite, Kyle Jr., and Sloane Danielle.
During her husband's baseball career, the family lived in various locations. By 2023, the family resided in Dunedin, Florida. She has supported her husband's career while managing her own professional opportunities, eventually deciding to return to reality television after his retirement from professional baseball.
