Veronica Jo Merrell was born in Kansas City, United States, on August 6, 1996. She is an identical twin. Her parents are Paul Merrell, a musician and video producer, and Wendy Merrell, a former school administrator. Veronica is 45 minutes older than her twin sister, Vanessa.
The Merrell family lived in Kansas City before moving to Los Angeles in June 2013. This move happened after a deal with the Disney Channel, which ultimately did not succeed. Veronica and her sister stated they have Spanish, Portuguese, Irish, German, and Mexican heritage.
