Who is Zoya Afroz?
Early life and education
Zoya Afroz was born in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Her parents are Shadaab and Saleha Afroz. She grew up with roots in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. She attended R N Shah High School in Mumbai before continuing her studies at Mithibai College in Vile Parle. There, she earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
Her career in the entertainment industry began when she was only three years old. She first gained attention through the Rasna-sponsored Mahasearch Contest. This early start led to her first commercial work for the same brand. She transitioned into acting for television and film as a young child.
Television and film career
Zoya appeared in the 1998 television series Kora Kagaz. Following this, she worked with Rajshri Productions in the 1999 film Hum Saath Saath Hain. She also appeared in the movies Mann and Kuch Naa Kaho during her childhood. Her early television roles included the fantasy series Son Pari and the series Jai Mata Ki in 2000.
She worked in several commercials for brands such as Whirlpool, Shoppers Stop, and Coca-Cola. In 2012, she acted in the Punjabi film Sadi Gali Aaya Karo. Her transition to adult Bollywood roles occurred in 2014 with the thriller The Xposé. This film was a commercial success for her.
Beauty pageant achievements
Zoya participated in the Femina Miss Indore 2013 contest at age 18. This victory allowed her to enter the Femina Miss India 2013 pageant. She finished the competition as the second runner-up. This event took place at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai.
In 2021, she competed in the Glamanand Supermodel India contest. She won three specific titles at this event: Best in Evening Gown, Miss Glamorous Eyes, and Top Model. This victory led to her being crowned Miss India International 2021.
Modeling and social work
Her modeling career includes appearing in the 2020 Kingfisher Calendar. This shoot took place in the Western Cape, South Africa. She was featured in the March and June editions of the publication.
