Early life and background
Born in Columbia, South Carolina, Alexis Jordan started composing original music while attending the third grade. During her youth, she relocated with her parents and three siblings to Santa Clarita, California, to pursue artistic opportunities. At the age of twelve, she performed as an opening act for Smokey Robinson during a tribute event for Stevie Wonder.
Her family background includes diverse heritage, with a Puerto Rican father and a mother of Native American, African American, and European descent. This upbringing exposed her to many influences, and she later cited artists like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Billie Holiday as inspirations for her own musical style.

She later appeared on the Sean Paul single Got 2 Luv U, which performed well internationally, reaching number one in several countries including Switzerland and Romania.

In 2014, Alexis Jordan married the actor Luke Broadlick. The couple has since welcomed three children into their family. Their daughter, Anora, was born in 2016. They subsequently welcomed two sons, Cain in 2017 and Abel in 2019.
