Who is Allison Williams?
Early life and education
Allison Williams was born on April 13, 1988, in Hartford, Connecticut, and raised in New Canaan, Connecticut. Her father is former television news anchor Brian Williams, and her mother is television producer Jane Gillan Stoddard. She has a younger brother named Doug.
She attended New Canaan Country School and Greenwich Academy before enrolling at Yale University. While studying at Yale, she majored in English and became a member of Morse College and the St. Elmo Society. She graduated with a bachelor degree in English in 2010.
Acting career
Allison began her career as a member of the improv comedy troupe Just Add Water and acted in the YouTube series College Musical. In 2010, she performed a popular video mashup that caught the attention of producer Judd Apatow. This led to her casting in the HBO comedy drama series Girls, which premiered in 2012 and ran until 2017.
In 2017, she starred as Rose Armitage in Jordan Peele's psychological horror film Get Out, which became a major critical and commercial success. She later starred in the Netflix horror film The Perfection and the thriller film Horizon Line. In 2023, she executive produced and starred in the science fiction horror film M3GAN, playing the role of roboticist Gemma. She later reprised the role in M3GAN 2.0 and appeared in the historical miniseries Fellow Travelers and the romantic drama Regretting You.
Personal life
In September 2015, Allison married college co-founder Ricky Van Veen in a private ceremony in Saratoga, Wyoming, which was officiated by Tom Hanks. The couple later announced their separation in June 2019.
In late 2019, she began a relationship with German actor Alexander Dreymon, whom she met while filming Horizon Line. The couple welcomed a son in late 2021 and later married.
