Ashley Greene was born on February 21, 1987, in Jacksonville, Florida, United States. Her father, Joe Greene Sr., served in the United States Marine Corps and operated a concrete construction business, while her mother, Michele, worked in the insurance industry. She grew up with a brother as the younger of two children in a household split between Jacksonville and Middleburg. During her youth, she enjoyed watching football and supported the Florida Gators.
For her education, Ashley attended University Christian School before moving to Samuel W. Wolfson High School as a tenth-grade student.
