Who is Breckin Meyer?
Early life
Breckin Meyer was born in Minneapolis, United States, on May 7, 1974. He grew up with an older brother named Frank and a younger brother named Adam. During his childhood, he lived in various places including California, Texas, West Virginia, and New Jersey.
As a student, he attended Beverly Hills High School. Early in life, he appeared in television advertisements and participated as a child on the game show Child's Play after being signed by an agent he met through elementary school.
Acting career
Breckin Meyer began his television career with roles in the sitcoms The Jackie Thomas Show and The Home Court. His film debut occurred in the horror film Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. He achieved a major breakthrough playing Travis Birkenstock in the teen comedy Clueless.
He later secured lead roles in successful comedies such as Road Trip and Rat Race. In addition to live action film work, he portrayed Jon Arbuckle in the live action adaptation of Garfield and its sequel, Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties. His film resume also features supporting parts in Kate & Leopold and Herbie: Fully Loaded.
Television and writing work
On television, Breckin Meyer played Jared Franklin in the legal comedy-drama series Franklin & Bash and starred in Married to the Kellys. He created the television sitcom Men at Work for the TBS network.
He is widely recognized for his extensive writing and voice acting on the Adult Swim sketch series Robot Chicken, which earned him multiple Primetime Emmy Award nominations and Annie Awards. Also, he voiced the character Joseph Gribble on the animated sitcom King of the Hill.
Personal life and music
Breckin Meyer married screenwriter and director Deborah Kaplan on October 14, 2001, and they share two daughters together. The couple divorced in 2014. Later, he began a relationship with Kelly Rizzo.
Aside from acting, he is a musician who plays the drums. He performed with the punk band The Street Walkin' Cheetahs and joined artists like Tom Morello in the backing band The Freedom Fighter Orchestra during music tours.
