Who is Brian Drummond?
Early life and background
Brian Drummond was born in Salmon Arm, Canada, on August 10, 1969. He grew up in the country and later pursued formal theatrical training. He attended the Juilliard School to hone his performance skills before transitioning into professional acting.
Before working extensively in animation, he began his career as a traditional theatre actor. He spent time performing on stage before eventually moving into voice acting on a full-time basis, building a career centered in Vancouver.
Voice acting career highlights
Brian is widely recognized for his work in various English dubs of Japanese anime series. Most he voiced Vegeta, Yajirobe, and Vegito in the Ocean Productions English dub of Dragon Ball Z. His vocal performance of the famous line delivered by Vegeta became an internet meme starting in 2006.
In addition to Dragon Ball Z, he has lent his voice to numerous other animated programs and series. He played Ryuk in Death Note, Zechs Merquise in Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, and Andrew Waltfeld in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. He also voiced Kurt Wylde in the Hot Wheels animated film series and Ork Warboss Gorgutz in the Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War video game series.
His extensive voice credits span decades and include roles in shows like My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, Inuyasha, Black Lagoon, and transformers series such as Transformers Armada. He also recorded dialogue for animated films and various video game projects based out of Vancouver.
Personal life and family
Brian is married to fellow voice artist Laura Drummond. The couple previously served together on the board of directors for the Urban Academy located in New Westminster.
He has three children named Aidan, Brynna, and Ashlyn. His children have also followed their parents into the voice-over industry, contributing to various animated television series and projects.
