Early life and schooling
Claire Antonia Forlani was born in Twickenham, London, on December 17, 1971. Her mother, Barbara, was English, and her father, Pier Luigi Forlani, worked as a music manager from Ferrara, Italy. In 1993, the family relocated to San Francisco to pursue further opportunities in the film industry.
At age 11, she enrolled at the Arts Educational School located in London. Over her six years there, she focused on acting studies. She also received training in ballet, which resulted in stage appearances for productions such as The Nutcracker and Orpheus in the Underworld.
Acting career beginnings
Her initial screen roles included the television mini-series JFK: Reckless Youth and the 1994 film Police Academy: Mission to Moscow. In 1995, she gained attention for her role as Brandi Svenning in the film Mallrats. The following year, she appeared alongside Sean Connery in The Rock.
She also participated in the 1996 biopic Basquiat, directed by Julian Schnabel. Her breakthrough performance arrived in 1998, when she starred in the fantasy romance film Meet Joe Black with Anthony Hopkins and Brad Pitt. She followed this with the 1999 comedy Mystery Men, appearing with Ben Stiller and Geoffrey Rush.

Throughout the early 2000s, Claire Forlani appeared in numerous projects, including the 2000 romantic comedy Boys and Girls and the 2001 thriller Antitrust. In 2003, she starred with Jackie Chan in The Medallion. Other film credits include the 2005 production Green Street Hooligans and the 2007 film Hallam Foe.
She maintained a steady presence in television. From 2006, she played medical examiner Dr. Peyton Driscoll on the CBS series CSI: NY. In 2011, she took on the role of Queen Igraine in the historical-fantasy-drama series Camelot. Later, she appeared as Agent Lauren Hunter on NCIS: Los Angeles and portrayed Alicia Brown on Hawaii Five-0.

Claire Forlani married Scottish actor Dougray Scott on June 8, 2007, during a ceremony held in Italy. The couple has one son, born in 2014.
