Early life and background
Demet Özdemir was born on February 26, 1992, in İzmit, Turkey. She is of Bulgarian Turkish descent and is the youngest of three children. Following the separation of her parents, she moved to Istanbul to live with her mother and siblings.
At the age of sixteen, Demet Özdemir began working as a backup dancer to support her family while continuing her education. She performed with singer Bengü and joined the dance group Efes Kızları, later appearing in music videos for prominent artists.
Acting career and breakthrough
Demet Özdemir studied acting at the Şahika Tekand Studio for two years. She made her television acting debut in 2013 with a role in the fantasy series Sana Bir Sır Vereceğim. She subsequently appeared in the historical drama Kurt Seyit ve Şura and the romantic comedy series Çilek Kokusu.
Her major international breakthrough occurred when she starred as Sanem Aydın in the romantic comedy series Erkenci Kuş from 2018 to 2019. The series achieved widespread popularity abroad, particularly in Italy and Spain, and earned her several accolades, including the Best Actress award at the Murex d'Or in Lebanon.

Following her romantic comedy success, Demet Özdemir transitioned to dramatic roles, starring in the television series Doğduğun Ev Kaderindir from 2019 to 2021.
