Early life and education
Ed Harris was born Edward Allen Harris in Englewood, United States, on November 28, 1950. He grew up in a middle class family and graduated from Tenafly High School in 1969, where he served as the football team captain during his senior year.
Following high school, Ed played varsity football at Columbia University before moving on to other institutions. He later attended the University of Oklahoma to study drama and completed his education at the California Institute of the Arts, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1975.
