Who is Facundo Arana?
Early life and health struggles
Facundo Arana was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His father was Jorge Arana Tagle, who worked as a lawyer specializing in Maritime Law. His mother, Mathilde von Bernard, was an athlete and former hockey player. During his youth, he attended the St Catherine's Moorlands de Pilar school.
Television and acting career
Facundo started his professional acting career in the 1990s on Canal 9, appearing in programs like Alta comedia, Marco, el candidato, La hermana mayor, and El Rafa. His breakthrough occurred in 1997 when he joined the children's series Chiquititas as Alejo Méndez Ayala. He initially played the villain before becoming the show's romantic lead the following year. In 1998 and 1999, he participated in the successful soap opera Muñeca Brava, which gained international popularity in countries including Russia, Israel, Poland, and Romania.
Film, theater, and music
Beyond television, Facundo has performed in various films and plays. His movie career includes his 2001 debut in Chiquititas: Rincón de luz and roles in La fuga and Tocar el cielo. In 2010, he starred in the independent film El agua del fin del mundo. On stage, he appeared in Visitando al Sr. Green in 2005, earning the ACE and Florencio Sánchez awards. He also starred in the theater production En el aire, which he performed in Mar del Plata and later in Buenos Aires.
Charity work and mountaineering
Facundo dedicates significant time to humanitarian causes. He serves as an ambassador for the Fundaleu foundation and supports UNICEF campaigns. He founded the Donar Sangre Salva Vidas campaign to promote blood donation, producing two documentaries on the subject. In 2012, he became the godfather of the first university for indigenous students located in Abra Pampa, Jujuy Province.
