Who is Greg Vaughan?
Early life and modeling
Greg Vaughan was born in Dallas, United States, on June 15, 1973. He grew up in the United States and attended Mesquite High School. As a teenager, he participated in a back to school modeling contest after sending in some snapshots during a haircut.
Although he did not win the competition, a winner encouraged him to pursue modeling. He signed with an agency and later traveled to Milan, Italy, where he modeled for designer Giorgio Armani for over two months. Additional campaigns followed with designers such as Gianni Versace, Tommy Hilfiger, Banana Republic, and Ralph Lauren while he worked in locations like Miami.
Transition to acting
While working as a model in Miami, Greg grew dissatisfied with that lifestyle and relocated to Los Angeles to pursue acting. His early television appearances included a role on Baywatch and the pilot for Malibu Shores. These initial parts led to future appearances on Beverly Hills, 90210 and a cast regular role during the second season of the supernatural series Charmed as Dan Gordon.
His career expanded into daytime drama when he was cast as Diego Guittierez in The Young and the Restless from 2002 to 2003. When that character was written off, he received an offer to join General Hospital.
Soap opera success
From 2003 to 2009, Greg portrayed Lucky Spencer on General Hospital. He was the first actor to play the character as a full adult, taking over the role from previous child actors. He announced his departure in 2009 when the role was recast.
In 2012, he joined the cast of the NBC daytime drama Days of Our Lives as Eric Brady, a character who had been ordained as a priest. He appeared on the program across multiple years, including departures and returns through 2022. Also, he starred as Detective Calvin in the Oprah Winfrey Network drama series Queen Sugar starting in 2016.
Family and relationships
Greg married Dutch model and actress Touriya Haoud on June 4, 2006. The couple shares three sons together. During their marriage, they lived in Los Angeles, California, and Charlotte, North Carolina. Haoud and Vaughan announced their separation on April 14, 2014, after which Haoud moved back to the Netherlands following their divorce.
Later, Greg announced his engagement to actress Angie Harmon on December 24, 2019, though the couple called off the engagement in July 2021. In 2024, he began dating model and actress Shanna Moakler.
