Early life and education
Hannah Francesca Katie Dodd was born in Colchester, United Kingdom. She grew up on the border of Essex and Suffolk in a place called Leavenheath. Her education began at the Ormiston Sudbury Academy.
Hannah has practiced dance since she was two years old. She eventually attended the Evolution Foundation College and now serves as a patron for the institution. In 2017, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Dance from the London Studio Centre.
Modeling career highlights
Before moving fully into acting, Hannah Dodd worked as a professional model. At age 16, she joined Select Model Management. She used the earnings from her modeling gigs to pay for her formal dance training.
Over the years, she booked campaigns for major brands including Primark, Topshop, Boden, and Monsoon Accessorize. In 2014, when she was 19, she appeared in a campaign for Burberry alongside Romeo Beckham.
Acting and stage career
Hannah made her television debut in 2018. She played Thea Raphael in the Hulu series Find Me in Paris and Sophia Fitzwilliam in the show Harlots. In 2021, she appeared as the illusionary version of Sprite in the Marvel film Eternals.
The following year, she acted in the Netflix miniseries Anatomy of a Scandal, portraying a younger version of a character played by Sienna Miller. Also in 2022, she appeared in Enola Holmes 2 and the Lifetime miniseries Flowers in the Attic: The Origin. She is widely recognized for taking over the role of Francesca in the Netflix series Bridgerton.
Beyond the screen, she made her West End debut in May 2025. She performed as Sally Bowles in the production of Cabaret at the Playhouse Theatre, which was renamed The Kit Kat Club for the run. This limited engagement lasted until September 2025.
