Who is Joel McHale?
Early life and education
Joel McHale was born in Rome, Italy, on November 20, 1971. His father, Jack McHale, served as the dean of students at the Rome Center for Loyola University Chicago. His mother, Laurie, is a Canadian native from Vancouver. Joel grew up on Mercer Island, Washington, which is a suburb located near Seattle.
He attended Mercer Island High School before moving on to higher education. He earned a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Washington in 1995. Later, he completed a master's degree through the Professional Actors Training Program at the same university. During his college years, he was a member of the football team as a tight end and was part of the squad that participated in the 1993 Rose Bowl.
