Who is Shenae Grimes?
Early life and background
Shenae Grimes was born in Toronto, Ontario, on October 24, 1989. She comes from a family with some Italian heritage through one of her grandmothers. During her high school years at Forest Hill Collegiate Institute, she completed an internship at a Toronto fashion television program.
Growing up in Canada, she began pursuing acting projects at a young age. Her early education and local experiences laid the foundation for her future career in the entertainment industry.

Shenae began gaining public recognition when she secured a recurring role on the television series Naturally, Sadie. She then took on the character of Darcy Edwards on Degrassi: The Next Generation, appearing on the show for four seasons starting in 2004 and becoming a regular cast member later on.
In 2008, she relocated after landing the starring part of Annie Wilson in 90210, which was a spin-off series for the CW network. Alongside television work, she appeared in various films and short projects, including Picture This and Scream 4.
Later in her career, she expanded her acting resume by playing a homicide detective named Jacqueline Cooper on the police drama series The Detail. This role marked her first time portraying an adult character on television.

Aside from acting, Shenae has worked extensively in the fashion and modeling industries. She has appeared on the covers of several fashion publications, including Nylon, Vervegirl, and Teen Prom, and modeled for Teen Vogue and Complex.

Shenae began dating British musician and model Josh Beech. The couple became engaged after a brief dating period and got married in Ashford, Kent, England, in May 2013.
They later welcomed their first child, a daughter, in September 2018, followed by the birth of their son in August 2021. In December 2019, she announced that she had obtained American citizenship, granting her dual Canadian and American citizenship.
