Who is Stefania?
Early life
Stefania was born on December 17, 2002, in Utrecht, Netherlands. Her parents are Koula and Spyros Liberakakis, and her family originates from Evros, Greece. She also has a familial connection to Greek actor Yannis Stankoglou.
During her childhood, she joined the children's choir Kinderen voor Kinderen and stayed with the group for two years before moving on to other musical projects.
The Voice Kids and Junior Eurovision
In 2013, Stefania appeared as a contestant on the third season of the Dutch edition of The Voice Kids. She performed in the blind auditions and joined Team Borsato before exiting the competition during the battle rounds.
Later, she participated in the Junior Songfestival preselection in the Netherlands. She was chosen as part of the girl group Kisses to represent the nation at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 held in Valletta. The group performed the track Kisses and Dancin and finished in eighth place out of seventeen entries.
Solo music and acting career
Stefania launched her solo music career by releasing her first single, Stupid Reasons, in 2018. She followed this with three additional singles in 2019, titled Wonder, I'm Sorry (Whoops!), and Turn Around. In June of that year, she joined Konnie Metaxa and Ilenia Williams to perform a cover of Con Calma at the MAD Video Music Awards.
Alongside her music work, Stefania pursued acting. Starting in 2018, she portrayed the character Fenna in the television series Brugklas. She also acted in Dutch feature films, including Brugklas: De tijd van m'n leven, De Club van Lelijke Kinderen, and 100% Coco New York.
Eurovision Song Contest
In late 2019, broadcaster ERT selected Stefania to represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song Supergirl. Although the event in Rotterdam was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ERT confirmed she would return for the 2021 competition.
For the 2021 contest, Stefania performed the track Last Dance, which was released in March 2021. She advanced through the second semi-final and secured a tenth-place finish in the grand final. Her stage performance featured backing dancers and artistic direction by Fokas Evangelinos.
