Early life and education
Born in Bandung in 1974, she is the daughter of Zbigniew Błeszyński and Farida Gasik. She spent time studying in Indonesia before moving to Perth, Australia. There, she attended St Brigid's College, where she earned a degree in Business Management.
Alongside her academic studies, she maintained a strong passion for performance. She participated in extracurricular drama classes during her junior high years and continued this pursuit throughout high school. Eventually, her interest in the performing arts led her to join the Theatre Institute. During her time with the institute, she took on the role of Calpurnia in a production of Julius Caesar.
Career beginnings and modeling
Her entry into the entertainment industry began unexpectedly while she was visiting a record store. A man named Jay Subiyakto noticed her and suggested she pursue modeling. This led to her signing a contract to appear in advertisements for the beauty soap brand Lux.
She soon transitioned from modeling to television acting. Her first soap opera appearance was in 1996 for the series Anakku Terlahir Kembali, broadcast on RCTI. She acted alongside Desy Ratnasari in this project and its sequel. Following a brief break to focus on her family, she returned to the screen in 2000 for the production Doa Membawa Berkah, under the direction of Ahmad Yusuf.
Acting success
Tamara Bleszynski reached significant popularity through her work in religious-themed soap operas. She starred in Wah Cantiknya!!! In 2001 and played a lead role in the series Hikmah, which aired in 2004. This specific role earned her the Favorite Actress title at the Panasonic Awards in both 2004 and 2005.
Her film career expanded later in the decade. She appeared in Issue in 2004 and Big Day in 2006. In 2008, she played the character Rrama in the action film Cicak Man 2: Planet Hitam. The following year, she starred in the slasher movie Air Terjun Pengantin. For this demanding role, she underwent physical training to build an athletic physique suitable for the martial arts sequences.
Personal life and business
Tamara Bleszynski converted to Islam in 1995. Her personal life has included two marriages. She married Teuku Rafly Pasha in 1997, and the couple had one son together before divorcing in 2007. Later, she married Mike Lewis in 2010, and they also had one son during their marriage, which ended in 2012.
Outside of her entertainment career, she is an entrepreneur. She served as a part owner of a restaurant called Resto Negev, where she also worked in the kitchen as a chef. Throughout her professional life, she has acted as a brand ambassador for numerous companies, including Kia, Mazda, Samsung, and various beauty brands like Pond's.
