Who is Tanya Burr?
Early life and education
Tanya grew up in Norwich, Norfolk. She attended Long Stratton High School. Later, she went to Notre Dame sixth form. She studied to become a professional makeup artist. After her studies, she worked at the beauty counter in Jarrold's department store in Norwich.
YouTube career
Tanya Burr started her YouTube channel in 2009. She took this advice from her sister-in-law, Samantha Chapman. Her first videos taught people how to copy celebrity makeup looks. She later made content about style, baking, and fashion. Tanya left her job at Jarrold's two years after starting the channel to focus on videos.
She worked with other creators like Zoe Sugg and Alfie Deyes. She also collaborated with Louise Pentland, Tyler Oakley, and Joe Sugg. In December 2015, she appeared on the cover of Glamour UK. She was also on the Stylist cover in November 2016.
Acting and film roles
She began acting in 2017 with a short film called Disconnect. Tanya had a role as an extra in the Sky series Bulletproof. In May 2018, she debuted on stage in a revival of Confidence by Judy Upton. She played the lead character named Ella.
She played Maud in the 2019 movie Hurt by Paradise. This film premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival in June 2019. Later in 2019, she acted in the BBC medical series Holby City. She also appeared in the 2021 film Twist.
Books and business ventures
Tanya Burr launched Tanya Burr Cosmetics in 2014. This brand worked with the British retailer Superdrug. The company stopped production in 2018. She also wrote three books with a ghostwriter.
The first book, Love, Tanya, came out on 29 January 2015 through Penguin Books. It gave tips on baking, vlogging, and beauty. She released a cookbook called Tanya Bakes on 30 June 2016. Her final book, Tanya's Christmas, was published on 19 October 2017.
Relationships and family
Tanya met Jim Chapman in 2007. They got engaged in December 2012. The pair married at Babington House in Somerset on 3 September 2015. They announced the wedding via social media on 6 September.
In March 2019, she stated that she and Jim had split up. Tanya announced her pregnancy with her partner, Dan, on 14 June 2022. Their son was born in October 2022.
