Early life and dance background
Thais Carla da Rocha dos Santos was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on October 15, 1991. Specifically, her birthplace is noted in Nova Iguaçu within the Rio de Janeiro area. From the age of four until she turned sixteen, she dedicated her time to studying classical ballet.
At the age of fourteen, Thais Carla and her sister founded a dance school named Academia Studio de Dança Simone Rocha. This early entrepreneurial step established her presence in the local dance community before she transitioned to broader television exposure.
Television and dance career
In 2009, Thais Carla appeared on the television program Domingão do Faustão during a segment titled Se Vira nos 30. She performed a hip hop routine and won a cash prize of R$15,000. Following this appearance, she performed on other shows such as Eliana, Programa Raul Gil, and O Melhor do Brasil.
By 2012, she joined the ballet troupe for the television program Legendários, where she remained for approximately four years and earned the nickname Gordinha Esquema. Expanding her creative output, Thais Carla officially launched her music career on January 5, 2024, by releasing her debut song titled Não Pode Opinar. Alongside her performance work, she entered the retail sector with items tailored for plus-sized individuals.
In January 2022, she introduced a mini-collection of curtain bikinis designed for plus-sized buyers. Also, she became an owner and partner in Alitasex, a brand that sells sensual products, lingerie, and costumes created specifically for plus-sized customers.

Personal life and family
Thais Carla married photographer Israel Reis in 2016, and the couple has two daughters together. The family previously lived in Salvador, Bahia, before she relocated to the interior of São Paulo around the end of 2021 to live closer to her business operations. She later announced plans to return to Bahia in May 2022.
