Who is Yeon Woo-jin?
Early life and real name
Born with the name Kim Bong-hwe, the future performer arrived on July 5, 1984. He is a native of Gangneung, South Korea. For his education, he attended Gangneung High School before enrolling at Sejong University to further his studies.
He began his professional path in the entertainment industry as a fashion model. In 2007, he walked the runway at Seoul Fashion Week. He also worked with the denim brand Evisu the following year in 2008.
Acting beginnings
In 2009, he made his first appearance in a film titled Just Friends? Which is a queer coming-of-age story. During this project, he used the stage name Seo Ji-hoo. His management agency eventually decided to change his professional name to Yeon Woo-jin.
His early television work included playing a teacher in the 2010 daily series All My Love. He achieved broader attention for his portrayal of the youngest brother in the 2011 family drama Ojakgyo Family. Around this time, he also took on his first lead role in a four-part production called Just an Ordinary Love Story, where he played a character connected to his brother's murderer.
