Who is Yolanda Hadid?
Early life and family
Yolanda was born as Yolanda van den Herik in Papendrecht, South Holland. Her parents are Gerard and Ans van den Herik. She grew up in a Christian family alongside her brother, Leo. When she was seven years old, her father died in a car accident. This tragedy left her mother to raise both children on her own.
Modeling career
Her professional career began when Dutch designer Frans Molenaar asked her to replace a model at a show. During this event, she was discovered by Eileen Ford. She subsequently signed a contract with the agency Ford Models. Following this, she worked as a model in various international cities including Paris, Milan, Sydney, Cape Town, Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, and Hamburg.
She continued her career in the fashion industry for 15 years. Eventually, she decided to step away from the runway to start a family. In 1994, she moved to Los Angeles. She later returned to television, creating and hosting the competition series Making a Model with Yolanda Hadid, which premiered on Lifetime in 2018.
Personal life and relationships
Yolanda Hadid became a naturalized United States citizen in May 2013. Her first marriage was to real estate developer Mohamed Hadid from 1994 until 2000. The couple had three children together named Jelena Gigi, Isabella Bella, and Anwar. Later, she married musician and producer David Foster in November 2011 in Beverly Hills. The pair announced plans to divorce in December 2015, and the legal process concluded in October 2017.
In May 2020, she announced a relationship with Joseph Joey Jingoli, the CEO of a construction and development firm. They announced their engagement in August 2024, but she ended this engagement in June 2025. In June 2026, she became engaged to real estate developer Randy Kendrick.
Health and public statements
She published a memoir in 2017 titled Believe Me: My Battle with the Invisible Disability of Lyme Disease. Throughout her time on television, she stated that she suffered from symptoms she attributed to chronic Lyme disease. In December 2012, she reported having a port implanted in her arm for treatment, which was removed in April 2013. She claimed that this condition caused her to lose the ability to read, write, or watch television. Also, she alleged that two of her children also suffered from this condition.
