Who is Angelica Ross?
Early life and education
Born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Angelica Ross grew up in the nearby area of Racine. At seventeen, she came out as gay to her mother, an evangelical Christian. Following a difficult period where she considered suicide, she finished high school and attended the University of Wisconsin–Parkside for a single semester. Later, she joined the U.S. Navy to qualify for the G.I. Bill. After six months of service in Japan, she received an uncharacterized discharge.
Acting career highlights
Angelica made her professional acting debut in the 2005 film Natale a Miami. After appearing in the short film Bella Maddo, she gained wider recognition for starring in the 2016 web series Her Story. This project earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. She then appeared in television shows such as Doubt, Claws, and Transparent. Her breakthrough role came in 2018 when she was cast as Candy Ferocity in the FX drama series Pose. This performance received critical acclaim.
Technology and entrepreneurship

This made her the first openly transgender person to host a presidential forum in the United States. She also spoke at the National Trans Visibility March in Washington D.C.
