Early life and career beginnings
Chiara Ferragni was born in the northern Italian city of Cremona in 1987. She is the oldest of three daughters, with a father who worked as a dentist and a mother named Marina Di Guardo who worked as a writer and deputy director for a fashion house. At the age of sixteen, she was hired by the Beatrice model agency in Milan, where she modeled for a couple of years before deciding to leave to pursue other goals in her life.
Fashion projects and collaborations
Throughout her career, Chiara Ferragni collaborated with multiple prominent brands within the fashion industry. She partnered with Diego Della Valle's fashion house Tod's to design a collection and later joined the board of directors in April 2021. In July 2015, she was also implicated in a trademark infringement scandal when Tod's was sued for copying another handbag designer. Her successful ventures earned her a spot on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2015.

In December 2023, Chiara Ferragni became the central figure of a major controversy known as the Pandorogate fraud scandal. The Italian Competition Authority fined her one million euros following an investigation into misleading commercial practices regarding a branded Balocco pandoro cake marketed during the 2022 holidays. Consumers were led to believe that purchasing the cake would directly fund bone cancer research at the Regina Margherita hospital in Turin, but investigators found that no portion of the retail revenue went to charity despite Ferragni being paid over one million euros for the promotion.
Personal life and family
Chiara Ferragni started dating Italian rapper Federico Lucia, widely known as Fedez, in September 2016. The couple married on September 1, 2018, in Noto, Sicily, and subsequently welcomed two children together in 2018 and 2021. During the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy, she and her then husband raised three million euros in twenty-four hours to support the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan.
