Early life and education
Elvira Devinamira Wirayanti was born on June 28, 1993, in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. She grew up in her hometown as the elder of two siblings born to Javanese parents. She started working as a model at the age of sixteen while continuing her schooling.
For higher education, Elvira attended Airlangga University in Surabaya. She graduated with a law degree and earned Cum Laude honours. During her university years, she participated in international delegations, including trips to Seoul for the Harvard Model United Nations Conference in 2011 and Boston for the same conference in 2012.
Pageantry career
Before entering major national pageants, Elvira competed in the local tourism beauty contest in her hometown of Surabaya called Cak Ning Surabaya, where she finished as the first runner-up. She later entered the provincial selection and won the title of Puteri Indonesia East Java 2014.
Her victory at the provincial level allowed her to compete in the national Puteri Indonesia 2014 contest held at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta. She won the national crown, succeeding her predecessor Whulandary Herman. The final event was attended by reigning Miss Universe Gabriela Isler as a member of the selection committee.
Miss Universe and acting
As the winner of Puteri Indonesia 2014, Elvira traveled to Doral in Miami, Florida, to represent Indonesia at the Miss Universe 2014 pageant. She placed in the top fifteen semifinalists and won the Best National Costume award. Her costume featured a design inspired by the Borobudur Temple and was titled The Chronicle of Borobudur.
Following her pageantry success, Elvira transitioned into acting in Indonesian cinema. She received film roles in productions such as Single and Dilarang Menyanyi di Kamar Mandi. Through these projects, she worked alongside well-known actors and directors in the Indonesian entertainment industry.
