Who is Tijana Todevska-Dapčević?
Early life and family
Tijana Todevska-Dapčević was born in Skopje on February 3, 1976. Her father Velko Todevski worked as a music teacher, and her mother Brana worked as an opera singer. Her parents met while studying in Sarajevo. She grew up alongside her younger sister Tamara, who also pursued a career in music and participated in Eurovision events.
She later married Milan Dapčević, who works as a businessman. Her family background is deeply connected to music, which influenced her artistic development from a young age.
Musical career and major releases
She released her second studio album titled Negativ in 2002 after winning the Sunčane Skale Festival in Herceg Novi with the title track, which was composed by Darko Dimitrov. Another well-known song in her discography is the 2005 release Sve je isto, samo njega nema, written by Dragan Brajović. The parody track featured verses in six different languages and generated significant public discussion.
In 2006, she won first place at the Serbian Radio Festival-Feras with the song Julijana. She also collaborated with rapper Dalibor Andonov Gru on the track Kiša in 2004, shifting the song toward pop music elements. Her other album projects include Kao da..., Zemlja mojih snova, Žuta minuta, and Muzika.
Eurovision and television acting
Macedonian Radio Television selected her on August 28, 2013, to represent Macedonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 held in Denmark. She performed the song To the Sky during the second semi-final on May 8, 2014, finishing in 13th place with 33 points without advancing to the final round. Her sister Tamara served as a backing vocalist during this performance.
Aside from her music career, she expanded into television acting. She played the German-Macedonian character Ula Buzalevska, which was a leading role in the Macedonian television show Prespav between 2017 and 2024.
