Who is Felipe Colombo?
Early life and background
Felipe Colombo Eguía was born in Mexico City, Mexico, on January 8, 1983. His parents were Juan Carlos Colombo, an actor, and Patricia Eguía, an actress. He grew up in Mexico City and attended school at Escuela Hermino Almendro for his primary education. Later, he moved to Argentina to complete his high school studies at the José Martí and San Francisco schools.
Television and film debut
Felipe Colombo began his professional acting career in 1992. He appeared in the Televisa soap opera El abuelo y yo, where he worked alongside actors such as Ludwika Paleta and Gael García Bernal. That same year, he also made his film debut in the production Sonata de luna.
Success with Chiquititas and Rebelde Way
In 1998, he played the character Julio in the Mexican version of the show Chiquititas. Following this, he joined the original Argentine production of the series at the request of the author Cris Morena. This project was significant because he worked for the first time with Benjamín Rojas, Luisana Lopilato, and Camila Bordonaba. He later appeared in the big screen version titled Chiquititas: Rincón de luz in 2001.
Later projects and musical endeavors
Following his time with Rebelde Way, he appeared as Miki in the 2004 production Floricienta. He also took on the lead role in a theatrical production of The Graduate alongside Nacha Guevara. In 2006, he portrayed Kurt Cobain in the play No te preocupes ojos azules and appeared in the television drama Doble Vida. In 2007, he joined the cast of the comedy Son de Fierro as Lucho Fierro.
Personal life
Felipe Colombo was in a relationship with actress Luisana Lopilato from 2000 until 2004. He later dated model Cecilia Bonelli between 2005 and 2006. In 2007, he began a relationship with costume designer Cecilia Coronado, whom he met while working on the show Son de Fierro.
