Who is Camila Bordonaba?
Early life and television start
Camila Bordonaba Roldán was born in El Palomar, located in the Buenos Aires province of Argentina. Her parents are Juan Carlos Bordonaba, a grocer, and Nora Roldán, a podiatrist. She grew up with two older siblings named Melina and Rodrigo. During her childhood, she engaged in rhythmic gymnastics and took part in various competitions before focusing on her acting studies at age eight.
Her career in television began at the age of three in 1987. She appeared on the musical program Canta Niño alongside her sister, Melina. This early exposure led to her singing in La banda de Canta Niño, where she performed as a soloist on tracks like Señora Vaca. She also recorded songs in Portuguese and Italian during this early phase of her professional life.
Acting breakthrough and musical success
At age twelve, Camila began working on the children's telenovela Chiquititas, which was created by Cris Morena. She remained part of the cast from 1996 until 2001, participating in the series' theatrical seasons throughout that period. In 2001, she appeared in the feature film Chiquititas: Rincón de luz alongside actors Romina Yan and Facundo Arana.
She achieved further fame between 2002 and 2003 by starring in the teen-oriented series Rebelde Way. During this project, she formed the pop-rock musical group Erreway with co-stars Felipe Colombo, Benjamín Rojas, and Luisana Lopilato. The band released several albums, including Señales, Tiempo, and Memoria, and performed tours across Argentina and internationally in places like Israel.
Later career and personal projects
In 2008, she joined the cast of Atracción x4, playing the character Malena Lacalle. She returned to film in 2010 for the horror movie Penumbra, directed by the García Bogliano brothers and filmed in La Plata. Later, she collaborated with Felipe Colombo and Guillermo Lorenzo to form a musical project called La Miss Tijuana, releasing songs such as Solo me salva amar.
Starting in 2011, she shifted her focus toward the Arcoyrá project, an art space that traveled across the country via a caravan. She spent time directing the play Una noche en el castillo and adopted a lifestyle that involved living in rural fields. In 2025, she reunited with former bandmates Felipe Colombo and Benjamín Rojas for the Juntos otra vez tour, performing in various countries throughout South America and Europe.
